07/12/2020

The Member Of Parliament for Asawase Constituency, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak has revealed why he allowed his six-year old daughter to thumbprint his ballot on his behalf.

The Incumbent MP, who is on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was sighted while voting at Peace of God polling station located at Aboabo in the Ashanti Region.

The MP was accompanied by his wife, children among few other relatives. However, many people were left shocked while they witnessed him and his daughter who is a minor, go through all the process of voting and lastly, thumbprinted his ballot on his behalf.

Explaining the rationale behind this, the honourable minister disclosed that, she was just taking her daughter through the process.

If you see her, she’s only six years old, she doesn’t even understand what’s going on. I raised her thumb and did the thumbprinting; it was virtually me doing it.” he said as quoted by Pulse.com.gh

If I had given it to her, she would not have even known what to do. She’s my princess and I came with her during the last elections. I’m just taking her through the process”. he added.
