The Video

Well, to briefly elaborate the incidence, the woman seen in the undercover video is called Madam Hajia Fawuzia. According to Hajia and her colleague male counterpart who unfortunately did not mention his name in the video, they were donating money as a form of incentive to the President to assist him in providing T-shirts for the party.

The Real Video

Speaking on Adom TV on December 1, 2020, lawyer Sammy Gyamfi stated that the video which was recently released by the NPP is a ”fake” video, but the original video does not have anything to do with the aforementioned donation money given to President Akufo Addo by Hajia Fawuzia and her male counterpart.

Voice of the NPP

Well, Section 252 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) makes it an offence for a public officer or juror to accept a bribe in the discharge of his or her duties. Any gift, payments and valuable consideration given to a public officer with the view to influencing the officer in the discharge of his or her official functions is treated as a crime.

Meanwhile, the money was donated to the president to assist him but not to influence him in discharging his official functions, some sympathizers of the NPP exclaimed.
