Top Power FM journalist ‘locked up’ in police custody for threatening Akufo-Addo

A journalist from Accra-based Power FM, Oheneba Boamah Bennie has been kept in the Police custody after he was invited by the CIDto assist in investigations.

He was expected to appear before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service following alleged threats against President Akufo-Addo.

In recent time, the journalist recorded a live video on Facebook where he was sighted issuing series of threat against President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo concerning the just ended December 7, elections.

However, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service as their custom entitles them to do has invited Mr.Bennie to their office to assist them with their investigation.

In the letter, the Police has written to the management of Power FM asking for the release of Mr. Bennie to report to “Superintendent/1U at the CID Headquarters, 4th floor, Room 13 on Monday. 14/12/2020 at 1000hours” to assist with investigations.
