NDC MPs takes over the majority seats in Parliament ahead of swearing-in

06/01/2021

NDC MPs in the 8th Parliament has taken over the majority seats in the parliamentary chamber which initially belonged to the NPP MPs.

The Member of Parliament-Elect of the Opposition NDC are of the view that no party has the majority and therefore they can sit anywhere in the chamber, leaving the NPP confused on where to sit for the inauguration.

This situation has raised major concerns as to which party will form majority in the 8th Parliament.

However, the only independent MP which vibeweek refers to as the ‘Kingmaker’, will be making the ‘most wanted’ decisions on issues in parliament.

Meanwhile, as it stands the NPP seems to be taking the majority role as the Fomena MP, Lawyer Andrew Assiamah is on their side.
