MP-elect for New Juaben South resigns

NPP Member of Parliament-Elect, Michael Okyere Baafi has resigned as CEO Of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, report says.

Michael Okyere Baafi tendered in his resignation to the President after serving the institution since 2017.

Before his appointment as head of the Free Zones Authority, he was the Head of Sales & Marketing at Phoenix Insurance, a private insurance firm.

However, hours into his swearing in, he has resigned from his post with immediate effect.

Okyere Baafi has been hailed for transforming GFZA positioning it on an enviable pedestal attracting more direct foreign investments.

He holds an MBA in Marketing and Corporate Strategy from the University of Ghana, and a Bachelor of Education (Honours) degree from the University of Cape Coast, and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the UK with over 10 years’ experience in insurance marketing.
