Joe Biden finally congratulates President Akufo Addo for winning 2020 election

US President-elect Joe Biden, after almost a month Ghanaian’s went to the polls has finally congratulated Ghana’s President, after Ghanaians went to the polls almost a month ago.

In a letter to the President, Joe Biden said he is looking forward to a dialogue with Ghana’s President-elect.

Akufo Addo is expected to swear into office on Thursday, January 7th at the independence square in Accra.

However, the results of the elections is being challenged by the opposition NDC and their flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden whose swearing in comes off on January 20th in his letter to the Akufo Addo said “It is my great honour to have been elected the next President of the United States , and I understand just how much work lies ahead of us.

“Vice President-elect Harris and I will take office at a time of great global challenges – from the coronavirus to climate change – that transcends borders and require international cooperation”
