06/12/2020

Residents at Ledzokuku are reportedly in queue refusing to sleep until they have casted their votes on Monday December 7, 2020.

According to Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim lady, she has received a notice that some residents at the Ledzokuku, a suburb in Accra has refused to go to bed until they cast their votes tomorrow.

Ledzokuku, the capital town of the Ledzokuku Constituency is one of the interesting constituencies where many people will be focusing on for updates.

Currently, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye is the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency. Dr Okoe Boye unseated Benita Sena Okity Duah in the 2016 Parliamentary elections.

Well, many people refer to the Constituency as a swing one. This is due to the inability of people to foretell the political party which will win in the constituency. Thus in 1996, the National Democratic Party (NDC) won the constituency with a slight margin while in the next consecutive terms the New Patriotic Party (NPP) won the seat.

However, the NDC won the seat back for two consecutive terms as well, and again the NPP came to claim the seat again in 2016. This year, Dr Okoe Boye will be facing his opponent from the NDC called Benjamin Ayiku Nartey.
