Election 2020: EC corrects mistake in presidential election results percentages

The Electoral Commission led by its chairperson, Madam Jean Mensah has issued a Press release to make corrections in the Presidential election results declared on December 9,2020.

After the polls and collation, the EC announced that the incumbent government led by Nana Addo Dankwa won with 6,730,413 votes which represent 51.59% approximately while the largest opposition NDC, led by John Mahama had 6,214,889 which represents 47.37% approximately.

However, the commission has recently issued a press release which stated that the commission inadvertently, used 13,433,573 as the total valid votes cast.

On the latter part of the statement, the commission disclosed that they inadvertently used 13,433,573 as the total valid votes cast instead of 13,119,460. And furthermore, declared that it does not change the percentages for each candidate and the declaration made by the chairperson.
