The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo has mistakenly endorsed Nii Lante Vanderpuye instead of Nii Lante Bannerman at Odododiodio.
The final rally for the New Patriotic Party was organized at Mantse Agbona in the Greater Accra Region. The awkward moment happened after the President was introducing the Parliamentary candidate for the NPP at Odododiodio constituency.
Nii Lante Vanderpuye is the incumbent MP for the Odododiodio Constituency while Nii Lante Bannerman is the NPP parliamentary candidate hoping to unseat him.
Funny enough, the President stated, ”In Odododiodio, if you are voting for me, then you are also voting for Nii Lante Vanderpuye”, the president said as he held the hand of Nii Lante Bannerman”.
Immediately, Nii Lante Bannerman turned to look at the President’s face and he suddenly realized he has made a mistake, he then said, ” I didn’t speak well at all. I have made a mistake. What am I going to do with Nii Lante Vanderpuye, I meant Nii Lante Bannerman and I want you all of you to vote for him”.

Well, the political gaffe made by the President is obviously due to the similarities between the two names.
