Three Leicester City Players Show “Symptoms and Signs” of Coronavirus

12/03/2020

As of now, despite leagues around Europe being suspended as players begin to test positive for coronavirus, and despite reports late last night that English games were set to go behind closed doors, plans for the weekend’s Premier League games remain unchanged.Ad

That could all be set to change quickly with news that three Leicester City players have shown symptoms and been isolated while they await the results of testing. Leicester City are currently scheduled to begin this weekend’s games with the early Saturday kickoff.

“We’ve had a few players that have shown symptoms and signs,” said manager Brendan Rodgers. “We’ve followed procedures and they have been kept away from the squad. We have a fantastic medical team here at the club that gives guidance to the players and staff.”

Elsewhere, Arsenal players remain in self-isolation after having come into contact with Olympiacos and Nottingham Forrest owner Evangelos Marinakis. Championship side Nottingham Forrest’s players are also currently in isolation and being tested for COVID-19.Ad

Meanwhile, UEFA has called for a conference with its stakeholder federations next Tuesday—though with the rate at which developments are occurring, both their and the Premier League’s hands could be forced well before then.
