The two big cities in Ghana, Accra and Kumasi have been locked down as the country fight against COVID-19.
On Monday, as announced by the President earlier, both cities were under a partial lockdown starting from 1:00AM. Movement of peoples to and from the cities shall be banned until 2 weeks, when it is expected to be over.
As a results, there was excessive boycott of the cities by people who are travelling to their various hometowns to escape the lockdown, prior to Monday.
It is known that people can move out only to get essential items like Food and water. Health workers, and other public and private workers are permitted to do their daily job.
However, after the President made the announcement on Friday, Residents of Takoradi have taken to social media to react to the news.
In a video sighted by Vibeweek.com, a young man was seen to be dancing around just because Takoradi is not part of the Lockdown. He was seen jubilating and having fun.
There has not been any Coronavirus case reported from the Western Region as this is what people also seem to be happy about.
