The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) has directed that all sporting events be held behind closed doors following a recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.
The decision which will affect the Ghana Premier League is in-line with the recent COVID-19 protocol by the Confederation of African Football to organise football matches without spectators.
“In-line with the directive of CAF to organise football matches behind closed doors, without spectators in the midst of COVID-19 spike globally, the Ministry of Youth and Sports directs that all sporting events including the Premier League matches should be organised behind closed doors and without spectators,”
“All teams must also ensure testing of their team members as required for the matches, any team without COVID-19 test clearance will not be allowed into any of our sporting facilities for training or for matches. The Ministry wishes all teams well in the coming sporting events”.
