03/07/2020

An ultimate Tribute from Cherished BAOSA’s to our senior Alumnus, Sir John.

Sir John Known Professionally as Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, a proud Bekwai SDA Old Student died on July 1, 2020 to the shock of the entire nation.

The news of his death has ignited a new face of social conversation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, which some Ghanaians have somehow taking lightly.

The former NPP General Secretary died after shortly been diagnosed of COVID-19. It has since been reported widely across Big Media Networks regarding posthumous testimonies about a man some call a “Legend” as far as Politics in Ghana is concern.

Popular Politician Asiedu Nketiah said his former colleague was just an amazing Politician who does not consider a person on the other side of the political divide as an enemy. He cited a moment when Sir John spent 3 days in his house during his late mother’s funeral.

Additionally, the President of Ghana, H.E Akufo Addo who was hit with “deep sadness” and a “great shock” hearing the death of a fellow ‘huge’ Patriot said his government and the party will forever miss his contribution and hardwork.

However, on the lighter note, Bekwai SDA old students have issued a press statement regarding the death of their Senior Alma mater, whom they are super proud of and will forever recognised as an astute member.

According to the Spokesperson for ‘2009 Year Group‘, Francis Appiah Brenya who spoke with Vibeweek.com, he said “they almost clashed with Konongo Odumase Old Students” over which school holds the bragging right on Sir John. Interesting? Lawyer Kwadwo Afriyie obtained his O’LEVEL and A’ LEVEL at Bekwai SDA and Konongo Odumase secondary schools respectively.

“The entire old students of Bekwai SDA Secondary School send our condolences the family of our fallen great man. We will forever remember him for his immense contribution to the School” He said.

As a true BAOSA myself, I say God richly put Sir John in a beautiful place for us until we meet happily again after this life.
