Shocking Moment when President Kufour failed to stand up to observe a minute of silence for J.J Rawlings

The moment where Former President John Agyekum Kufour failed to stand up to observe a minute of silence for the late Ghanaian leader J.J Rawlings has caught the attention of the media.

On the occassion of the State of the Nation Address delivered by President Akufo Addo at the Parliament house in Accra, he ordered for a moment of silence for the former President who died November, 12th.

Flt Lt J.J Rawlings was announced dead after a short illness. He was the first President of the 4th republic of Ghana.

However, J.A Kufour who was not in good terms with Rawlings failed to stand up. Nothwithstanding, the eminent former Ghanaian leader had earlier reacted to his death saying, ” even though it wasn’t always he and I agreed on many matters of state – I felt that he was trying to do the best he knew and could, under his peculiar circumstances“.

J.A Kufour remained sitted when Akufo Addo asked for people to stand up for a minute of silence to JJ Rawlings who died on November 12th.

Vibeweek believes J. A Kufour, 82, did not stand up due to the fact that he is old and weak.
