Luka Jovic has signed his Real Madrid contract and posed with the club’s iconic white shirt for the first time as he was formally unveiled at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

The Serbian striker completed his £62million move from Frankfurt earlier this month and has now been officially confirmed as a Real player.

Jovic penned a six-year contract with the Spanish giants as he became their fourth most-expensive signing ever, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and fellow new boy Eden Hazard.

Jovic was presented in the presidential box at the Bernabeu as the footage was broadcast on Real Madrid TV.

He held up the club’s shirt, which still did not have his squad number, alongside president Florentino Perez before the pair sat down together and signed his contract.

Jovic then sat down for his presentation as a Real player and watched a montage that the club had pieced together of his career so far.

Jovic said: ‘I’m the happiest guy in the world, I’m going to give everything.

‘I’m excited and I’m sure I’ve made the best decision, I’ll work hard to win titles with Real Madrid.’

Perez added: ‘He was wanted by several big clubs in Europe but Jovic belongs to Real Madrid. It was his dream and today he is here.

‘You come from a club we consider a friend and a very demanding league. You have scored 27 goals but our fans are going to ask you for much more. You have before you the greatest challenge of your career.

‘We are very proud of you because as they told us, this is the shirt you used to sleep with when you were little.’

After the formalities had been completed, Jovic made his way down to the pitch to pose in the club’s kit. Hundreds of supporters had turned out to greet him and the striker performed some keepy-uppies on the famed playing surface.
