Public Pipes closed down after Akufo Addo declared free water for 3 months; Residents in Limbo

09/04/2020

The President of Ghana on 5th April during his 5th National address on measures to contain the spread of coronavirus in Ghana, announced the absorption of water bills for all Ghanaians for 3 months.

This news has brought a lot of relief to many Ghanaians since the spread of the pandemic has stagnated economic activities.

As the joy continues, some residence in the Adansi South district capital, New Edubiase are not benefiting from this.

According to a resident by name Nana Kyei Baffour, public pipe in Asamenya (Area in New Edubiase) has not been opening since Monday, 6th April. When residents reportedly approached the one in charge, he told them he will not open the pipe, because he has not heard any news of free water.

Meanwhile, the pipe in question is a public pipe that is sold to residents.

Residents are now left in a state of limbo since the said pipe is the only source of water to many.
