President Akufo Addo has finally reacted to Martin Amidu’s resignation in a statement signed by the Chief of Staff.
The Chief of Staff said the President has accepted and wishes the outgoing Special Prosecutor all the best in his future endeavors.
“The President has directed me to ensure that all emoluments and benefits due you under law are paid to you accordingly. The President thanks you for your service to the state and wishes you the best in your future endeavours“. The statement said.
Martin Amidu resigned as Special Prosecutor on Monday, after barely three (3) years in office. He attributed his reason of resigning as SP to pressures from government and party bigwigs as far as the Agyapa deal is concerned as well as other matters of importance.
However, in a statement issued on Tuesday, the President on behalf of Chief of Staff, Mrs Frema Opare said the presidency will respond to all the matters Martin Amidu raised in his resignation letter very soon.
