Senegal midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye has officially completed his move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from English giants Everton for an undisclosed fee.
The 29-year-old signed on the dotted line on Tuesday after completing his mandatory medical test.
Everton confirmed the player’s departure in a short statement posted on their social media pages, with reports indicating that he had signed a four-year deal.
“Idrissa Gana Gueye has today joined PSG – Paris Saint-Germain for an undisclosed fee,” reads the statement.
“Thank you for always giving everything, Gana.”
Gueye is a product of the popular Diambars Academy in Senegal and moved from the Academy to Lille in 2008 and played for the B team for two years before becoming a member of the first-team squad in 2010.
He spent five years with Lille, playing 134 games and scoring five goals for them, before moving to Aston Villa in England in 2015.
He joined Everton from Aston Villa for £7 million in 2016 and he is believed to have left for a deal of £25million after making 108 appearances for the Toffees in all competitions.
Gueye has represented Senegal 64 times and was part of their team that lost the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations final to Algeria.
