Several Awards scheme focused on the various regions in Ghana had already been launched with support from MUSIGA including; Central Music Awards, Western Music Awards, Volta Music Awards , Eastern Music Awards and many others. It seems to be the right time, after several attempt have failed towards the launch of the Greater Accra Music Awards.
Ghana is yet to experience another Prestigious Award scheme that seeks to recognize and celebrate hardworking artists in the Greater Accra Region.
Organizers had earlier slated April, where it was later postponed to May and then to June, before finally settling on its current date being July 12th at the Mikaddo Plaza, Labone Junction, Accra.
MojoMedia, Organizers of the scheme is therefore calling on industry players to submit nominations as Ghana is yet to experience another Prestigious Awards Scheme for Music Development, later in the year.
For the Launch, Some Key dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion, including; Bice Osei Kufuor popularly known as Obour (MUSIGA President), Dela Botri, Ras Appiah-Levi (Greater Accra MUSIGA chairman) and many others.
In an interaction with the Press, the CEO of MojoMedia, Haruna Rashid Yussif said “Artists, groups, producers, sound engineers, video directors, fans and all industry players are expected to nominate themselves or to be nominated by others for categories they deem qualify”.
He also emphasized that industry players should submit works released between 2016 – 2018 including; A soft copy of the nominee’s profile, photographs and sample music via the official website for the awards:www.greateraacramusicawards.com.
