MTN FA Cup R64: Kotoko, Aduana out, Hearts ease into next round plus other results

The 2019/20 MTN FA Cup commenced with the round of 64 games taking place over the weekend. With clubs across all divisions given the chance to compete, the result at the end certainly signifies the slogan of this competition; Obiaa nnye Obiaa.

On Saturday Tema Youth defeated Attram De Visser by 2 goals to 1 while premier league side, Techiman Eleven Wonders lost to Kenyasi New Dreams.
Perhaps the shocking result of this round would have to be Asante Kotoko who lost to Asokwa Deportivo by 2 goals to 1 after taking the lead.

Western Region based side, Samartex had the biggest share of goals of the weekend after scoring 5 goals past their opponent, Nkwantaman United.

Hearts of Oak, Dreams FC, Elmina Sharks and AshGold were all Premier League sides who have qualified into the next round of 32 after wins on the weekend. WAFA beat competition from fellow regional rivals, Hearts of Lions by winning by 2 goals to 1. In one of the Premier League club ties, Aduana Stars succumbed to Bechem United after losing by 2 goals to 1.

Bofoakwa Tano FC and BA United locked horns in the Brong Ahafo derby. The game ended in a stalemate which meant, penalties. In the end, Bofoakwa Tano claimed glory after a 5-4 victory in the penalty shootout.
