I will join the NPP on only one condition – Fomena MP

11/12/2020

The Member of Parliament-elect for Fomena Constituency, Lawyer Andrew Amoako Assiamah has said he will join the NPP on one condition.

The MP suffered in the hands of his party when he opted to contest the general election as an independent candidate.

Few weeks into the general elections, he was sacked from Parliament on the basis of not belonging to the party that brought him there.

However, the astute lawyer still went into the election, winning the seat for the second time as an independent candidate. The NPP lost more than 30 seats to the NDC, where the party is still struggling to get the majority in parliament.

According to the Electoral Commission, NPP has 137 seats as against NDC who has 136 seats with 1 outstanding constituency; Sene West and 1 independent candidate, who happens to be the Fomena MP.

Now, Lawyer Amoako seems to be the decider. But the question people are asking is: Will he join the NPP or the NDC?

Well, according to his special Aid, Seth Oduro the legislator will wait for the NPP to approach him first.

Speaking to Nhyira FM, Seth Oduro said any decision that will be taken will be in consultation with the Liberation Movement that supported him to victory.
