For the 2019/20 season, the Terriers ‘revealed’ a shirt sponsored by bookmaker Paddy Power on Wednesday.
Unlike traditional kits, the sponsor’s logo is positioned diagonally across the length of the shirt.
It didn’t take long for fans to leap on the design, comparing it to a beauty pageant sash.
The club define it as “a modern spin” on the traditional blue-and-white stripes with the white shorts and socks giving “a very clean feel” that is “in keeping with tradition”.
It joins the ranks of bizarre kits produced over the years – from 1860 Munich’s Oktoberfest shirt to Getafe’s Burger King offering.
Twitter user Sam joked: “Looks like a sponsored hen night!”
Another, Richard, asked: “Could you make the sponsor a bit bigger please?”

And Joe added: “Congratulations on officially winning Paddy Power’s 2019 pageant show.”
Others are convinced Huddersfield will reveal their real kit later on.
The Irish bookmaker are notorious for their publicity stunts and there is hope the logo will soon be shrunk – perhaps enforced by league rules.
One Town fan, Harry, wrote online: “I hope this is a joke! That’s absolutely horrendous.”
