Gov’t Bans Shaking Of Handkerchiefs In Churches

02/06/2020

Government has banned the shaking of handkerchiefs across churches in Ghana.

The move forms part of coronavirus safety measures.

Minister of Religious Affairs, Kofi Dzamesi, made the call in an address at the information ministry’s press conference on Monday, June 1, 2020.

He also encouraged mosques to ensure no mask no entry policy.

He said mosques should designate a holding room for persons who may be sick to be isolated from the general worshippers.

He stated that mosques and churches must display COVID-19 educational materials at vantage points to remind worshippers about safety and social distancing measures.
