Management of Despite Media has suspended the production of two political shows on UTV, that has to do with both NPP and NDC.
Preparations towards the 2020 elections opened up for the two major political parties NPP and NDC to host their various 60mins Political Shows as part of their electioneerng campaign. This resulted in the creation of ‘Asempa Y3 Tia’ hosted by Ernest Owusu Bempah (NPP) and ‘Nokwor3 Mmr3’ hosted by Sammy Gyamfi of the NDC.
The show has been airing for a couple of weeks now.
However, in a shocking statement released by Despite Media on Friday afternoon, the station has called for an immediate suspension of both shows.
Management of UTV said in a statement they released on Friday that “they took this unfortunate decison due to the numerous allegations and legal actions the station has been faced with” since they started airing the two shows on thier platform.
UTV said they want to protect their brand…and therefore maintain the stations unbiasedness in Ghanaian Politics.
However, they are still open to further negotiations to bring the shows back.
