Date Rush: The Truth behind Nii Kpakpo leaving the show after 3 Seasons

Versatile Radio/TV Personality, Giovani Caleb takes over from Comedian/TV host, Nii Kpakpo Thompson as host of the 4th Season of Date Rush.

For its fourth Season, the show which broke record last year as the most watched reality show on TV, will witness another exciting package as Giovani takes turn as host.

He will be co-hosting with Anita Akuffo.

Airing on TV3 every Sunday, 8PM, the show expects to be a level up season following the impressive ratings of Season 3.

However, the biggest surprise to viewers as they anticipated another exciting season with Nii Kpakpo was his replacement. Viewers were looking forward for Nii Kpakpo to give them the very best as show host, but they seemed a bit disappointed in the show runner’s failure to get Nii Kpakpo on season 4.

The big question is, what really caused Nii Kpakpo’s exit from the show.

According to sources, Nii Kpakpo’s contract was due after the 3rd season and therefore he failed to renew his contract with the Production house, APL – an inhouse production arm of TV3/Media General.

The cause of not renewing his contract was the fact that he got a lucrative job with high salary and benefit in the UK, and opted to leave the country, a close source told Vibeweek.

Meanwhile, social media users have started raising concerns after TV3 finally announced Giovani Caleb as new host.

Nii Kpakpo on Twitter has said the producer wanted another host for the 4th season.
