The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced the date government will make an official public statement on the re-opening of schools throughout the country.
The country has faced almost a year of schools closure, although there have been some few instances where students were called back to school for examination and emergency lectures.
However, there is suppose to be normal school reopening like before and therefore the government has set Dec. 30th as the day to make an official announcement on when students are going back to school.
According to the Information Minister, the president is still receiving briefings from the COVID-19 Technical team to make a decision whether on not schools should be reopened in January, 2021.
Many of us are parents but schools have to be opened in a careful manner so that we do not have a second wave of infection.
The president is just about to take a final decision. He continues to gather both the reports and scenarios. By the 30th when the cabinet is done, a firm decision will be taken,” He told the Press.
