Covid-19: Obuasi Central Market closed down

As part of steps taken to decongest the Central Business District in Obuasi so as to promote social distancing, the Municipal Chief Executive of Obuasi, Hon. Elijah Adansi Bonah, has announced that the business area would be closed down till further notice

In a Press Statement released by the Assembly, the decision was taken at a joint meeting between the management of Obuasi East and Municipal Assemblies in collaboration with
other stakeholders including traditional authorities, security taskforce, Ghana Health  services, AGA Health Foundation, and Assembly Members of the two Assemblies to fight the spread of COVID -19 (Coronavirus) in Obuasi.

As part of the measures, all stores, sheds, stalls, shops, including butchers are to be closed with effect from Friday, May 8, 2020, until further notice. This is to enable management execute a well-planned shift system. The Assembly would supply market operators and traders with identification cards to determine their turn on the shift system.
