Burnaboy’s Twice as Tall Album has been nominated For “Best Global Music Album of the year” at the 63rd Grammy Awards.

Burna Boy has become the first Nigerian to be nominated for that category on two consecutive occasions.

If Burna Boy wins, he will become Nigeria’s first Grammy winner since Sikiru Adepoju won with ‘Planet Drum’ over 10 years ago.

Beyonce’s video for ‘Brown Skin Girl’ got a nod for Best Music Video, but it’s unclear if that concerns Wizkid who is a featured act on the song alongside Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce’s daughter and Saint JHN.

Global Music Album Nominees:

Twice As Tall – Burnaboy

Amadjar – TINARIWEN

Love Letters – ShankarAnoushka

Agorga – bebelgilberto

Fu Chronicles – Antibalas

The ‘Ye’ singer’s influence in Africa cannot be over-emphasized as he has been nominated for the 2nd time. Burna Boy had his first Grammy Nomination last year in the same Category with his 3rd Studio Album ‘African Giant‘ (2018). He lost the GRAMMY to the legendary Beninese singer-songwriter, Angélique Kidjo.

Meanwhile, the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, January, 31 at the Staples Center, LA. South African Comedian Trevor Noah will host Music’s Biggest Night for the first time.
