The Director at the Public Health Division Dr Badu Sarkodie has confirmed that a total of 6 cases of coronavirus otherwise known as COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ghana.
According to the official reported hundreds of people have been traced to have contacted the six people who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Ghana.
Apart from the two cases that were previously reported by the Ministry of Health to have been confirmed in Ghana, two more cases were confirmed on March 13, 2020.
Dr Sarkodie reveals that the cases involved a 56-year-old man who returned from a trip in UK on March 4 and developed symptoms on March 12.
The other case confirmed on March 13 involved a student that returned to Ghana from abroad. Samples were taken when she showed symptoms and it was also confirmed positive.
It is reported that on March 14, 2020, two more cases were confirmed of coronavirus in the country. These also involved a 42-year-old Ghanaian male who returned on March 8.
Secondly, another 41-year-old reported sick on March 14 whose samples were taken as he showed symptoms and it was confirmed positive.
In other news, there is optimism that something good is about to come from Senegal, Africa in relation to coronavirus which is threatening the world and currently recognised as a pandemic.
This is because innovators from the African country are now assisting the United Kingdom with the creation of the fastest testing kits that could detect the virus in an individual within 10 minutes.
The world is held in surprise at the way the virus spreads with cases now above 120,000.
