The Kumasi Central Market will from Tuesday, April 7 be closed down to traders according to a release by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA).
The closure has become necessary to allow traders to reorganize themselves to suit the WHO social distancing protocols to combat further spread of the disease
A statement from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly indicated that Trading along the margins of the road at the Central Market and the Central Business District remains prohibited and warned that traders who flout the order will face the full rigors of the law.
It further said the leadership of the traders have been tasked to meet in order to design the modalities for the rotation in groups before the market can be open to the general public.
