A 13-year-old boy died in a fire outbreak Friday dawn at Asafo Fitamu near Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The fire destroyed six metal container shops full of vehicle tyres, paints, among other parts and a wooden structure accommodating a family of three.
The incident brought to a standstill economic activities in the business community as property owners count their loss.
Fire fighters, according to Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako, were able to bring the fire under control within 15 minutes after arrival at the scene.
Assistant fire station officer of Kumasi Metro Sampson Asiedu, said his outfit will investigate the cause of fire.
