Bashir Hayford has admitted that his striker, Asamoah Gyan is not in form, so they are working on him.
Legon Cities football club recently suffered a 1-0 defeat from the porcupines from the Ashanti Region, Asante Kotoko, courtesy to Osman Ibrahim’s powerful goal.
During the match, the Ghanaian football legend, Asamoah Gyan came in during the last minutes of the game to substitute Raphael Ocloo.
Baby Jet’s appearance in the game did not really change things to favor his team, and however suffered a defeat making the team lie at the bottom of the Ghana Premier League standings with 3 points from five games.
Coach Bashir Hayford who took over the club some weeks ago said that Asamoah Gyan’s form is down so they are working on him. ”Asamoah Gyan if he even has 50 per cent of his form, it wouldn’t have been a problem but his form is completely down… We have to work on him, he stated during a Post-match Press Conference on Friday.
He added, ”Goal scoring is an art and it’s all about pushing the confidence of goal scoring into them and it is not easy. It is not one week, it is not two weeks. Well, we shall overcome”.
Meanwhile, Gyan is Ghana’s all time top scorer with 51 goals in 109 international appearances.
