Akufo-Addo appoints Dr Alexander Y. Adusei Jr. as Director for Keta Port

President Akufo-Addo has appointed private legal practitioner Dr Alexander Y. Adusei Jr as Director for Keta Port

Transport Minister Kwaku Ofori Asiama who announced the appointment in a letter dated March 19, 2019 asked the Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to “take the necessary action to give effect” to the appointment.

Government in April last year signed an agreement with Diamond Cement Ghana Limited to begin the construction of a port at Keta in the Volta Region.

The jetty port when completed will see Keta port handle vessels to ease congestion at the Tema and Takoradi Ports and also increase the volume of business in the West Africa sub-region since the facility would be used by other operators.

It will also facilitate the importation of raw materials for Diamond Cement as well as reduce their cost of doing business.

Who’s Dr Adusei Jr?

Dr Adusei holds MA and Ph.D from the Ohio State University in the United States where he worked extensively as a lawyer. He is a senior associate at Darkoh & Darkoh and principal at Adusei Law Group LLC.

He worked as a distance learning administrator at Ohio Department of Rehab and Correction where he was responsible for all distance learning programmes for the school.

Dr Adusei Jr attended T.I Ahmadiyya Secondary school for his O level and Osei Kyeretwie Secondary School for his A level before going to the University of Ghana where he graduated with BA in Philosophy with History.Comments:
