The Goaso Circuit Court has sentence seven armed robbers to 20 years each for robbing and raping passengers on the Asibrem-Tano-Dumase road in Asunafo South district of the newly created Ahafo Region.
The seven are Musah Sumaila Alias King, 25, Fataw Dauda Alias Scopion, 22, Sarpong James, 22, Kofi Nyamekye Dickson Alias Medical, 23, Alex Boateng Alias C2, 24, Kwesi Asuo CK, 22, and Budu Clifford, 18,
The court presided over by Mr. Charles Akwesi Acheampong convicted the armed robbers on their plea of guilty to conspiracy to commit crime, robbery and rape.
ASP Lawrence Adomire, Kukuom District Police Commander in a Citi News interview said on the 18th March 2019, these young men conspired and subsequently robbed the driver, passengers and also raped two female passengers in a minibus on the Asibrem to Tano Dumase road.
