Ghanaian striker Caleb Ekuban has apologised to Ghanaians for missing a penalty that led to Ghana’s exit from the Africa Cup of Nations competition ongoing in Egypt.
Ekuban’s penalty miss saw Tunisia advance to the quarter-final stage on a 5 – 4 scoreline after a 1 – 1 draw in regular time.
Shortly after the Black Stars defeat, Ekuban tweeted: “I’m sorry”.
Ekuban plays for Turkish Süper Lig club Trabzonspor on loan from Leeds United.
Ekuban was born in Italy to Ghanaian parents. He is a striker known for his pace, technical ability and strong physique.
