Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has announced his retirement from football at the age of 38.
The Frenchman has been without a club since leaving West Ham at the end of the 2017-18 season and has called time on his career as he prepares to move into coaching.
Evra, who has been involved in a number of bizarre incidents on social media recently, announced his decision in a video uploaded to his official Instagram account.
He wrote the caption: “MERCI AU REVOIR #ilovethisgame #positive4evra #love #god #grateful #blessed #happy #mondaymotivation”, alongside a video documenting moments throughout his career.
Manchester United posted their own tribute to the former defender on Twitter, uploading various images of Evra celebrating their title triumphs and captioning it with: “Thanks for the memories, Patrice!”
