Is Yolo Season 5 Doing Better On TV as It’s doing Youtube?

17/07/2019

Popular TV Series, YOLO has been renewed for a 5th Season with casts including recurring characters; Cyril (Aaron Adatsi), George (Danso Sakyi), Drogba (John B. Peasah) and Emily (Queenstar Anaafi).

The Series IS A SEQUEL TO TV Series Thing we do for love, that seeks to advises the youth on some of the best choices and challenges they face in their sexuality.

The show was created by Ace Showrunner/Director & Creator, Ivan Quashigah in 2016 and has since been the most loved teenage television show across Africa.

The Yolo Season 5 is currently the most popular Ghanaian TV Series, trending at least every week, on Youtube with viewership growing more than twice its number for every episode.

The big question is: is Yolo doing so well on television too. Do people watch Yolo on TV3 as they watch on Youtube?

TV3 is still one of the most watched TV Stations in Ghana, if taking their News, Reality shows and Telenovelas into consideration as reported by Geopoll in their Data Report for 2018. According to GeoPoll, TV3 leads in the News programme market with an Average ratings of 3.6, Reality shows with 5.2 and came fourth with 2.8 average ratings.

Authoritatively, if Geo polls data was anything to come by, we can state that TV3 was the most watched TV Station in Ghana in 2018. What about 2019? Is TV3 still leading? We do not have Data from any research firm yet but TV3 will have keen competition from UTV, Adom TV and the likes in 2019. Does it mean Yolo season 5’s Youtube views is growing at the fastest rate due to the popularity of TV3.

But, won’t you agree with me on the point that Yolo’s Youtube popularity is driving a lot of viewers to watch the show on TV3?, Even though, The show is aired on TV3 before airing on Youtube.
