The issue concerning the legalization of marijuana has assumed a more vibrant stage in recent time as a cross section of Ghanaians, particularly Rastafarians have threatened not to vote henceforth if the drug is not legalized.
Reggae/Dancehall artiste. Ras Kuuku has expressed his opinion about the subject and has wondered why Ghana is wasting time in spending up the legalization process considering the huge monetary returns we stand to gain if we legalize it.
He told DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa that the herb is more beneficial and healthy than cocoa thus, the two should not be compared.
“Ghana, we are wasting time you know, compare the price of cocoa to marijuana and you’ll know that cocoa is a small boy nowhere close to marijuana. Uganda and other countries are exporting marijuana to Canada, US and other places making millions of dollars. Marijuana is more beneficial than cocoa, we should stop comparing the two. Marijuana is 4,000 times expensive than cocoa”
Kuuku added that, the government is wasting time on imprisoning people who use marijuana instead of legalizing it.
