Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has voiced his regret for missing the great legend Nana Ampadu’s funeral, last Saturday.
The rapper posted on his Facebook page on Monday expressing how ashamed he was for missing Nana Ampadu’s funeral.
He continued by saying that even though NFA Boss, David Dontoh reminded him about the funeral and he felt really awful he had skipped the event.
‘’Ashamed and hurt for not making it to the legend Nana Ampadu’s funeral…. Uncle David told me about it last Sunday… Crazy how I had it on my mind from then and still missed it but all the same Rest in peace grandpa may the Almighty keep you safe. No excuses make sense to even myself missing all these legends funerals…need to do better.
Ghanaian highlife legend Nana Ampadu painfully died last year September, while on admission at the Intensive Care Unit of the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra.
He was buried in his hometown Obo Kwahu which is situated in the Eastern region. He was popularly known for being the king of pop in the early 1990s.
The funeral was attended by great men and women such as the president of Ghana Nana Akuffo Addo , Alban Bagbin (Speaker of Parliament), Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei Opare, former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Interior Minister Ambrose Dery and Alan Kyerematen (Trade and Industry Minister).
Other popular actors and actress were also present during the funeral ceremony.
Nana ampadu died at the age of 76 leaving behind his wife Madam Joyce Frimpong and 24 children.
