The Electoral Commission has finally released the official number of parliamentary seats won by the incumbent government, NPP and the biggest opposition party NDC.
Jean Mensah, the returning officer for the Presidential elections and the chairperson of the electoral commission declared the results for the 2020 Presidential elections on December 9,2020.
Prior to this, Madam Jean Mensah stated in one of her press briefing that, due to the discrepancies surrounding the political party which has majority in parliament, she would take the honor upon the commission to officially let the citizen know the actual facts concerning the political parties and the seats they have in parliament.
Meanwhile, according to the General Secretary of the NDC, Asiedu Nketiah, his party holds 141 seats in parliament which automatically makes them the majority.
On the other hand, the General Secretary for the NPP, John Boadu stated during an interview with the media that, his party holds the majority in parliament.
Well, the Electoral Commission has cleared the air by officially releasing a tabulated Press statement, which gives the record of all the parliamentary seats won by the two political parties.
