Gospel musician Patience Nyarko has revealed that remaking hymns will make her a lazy artiste since she has the ability to write her own songs.
In an interview on Onua FM’s Efie Ne Fie with Dr. Prekese on Friday, May 22, the Obi Nyanime hitmaker admitted that although she likes to sing hymns, she does not see the need to remake them, put them on her album, and sell them.
According to her, God has given her the gift to write her own songs and does not see the need to remake hymns and call it her own.
She, however, noted that she would prefer hiring a songwriter than remaking hymns done by other people.
Asked how she felt about artistes who do that, she said it exposes their lack of creativity.
She, therefore, admonished artistes not to remake songs but rather come out with their own songs.
Patience Nyarko has been in the news lately for calling out her fellow Gospel musician Joe Mettle for singing only Pentecost and Methodist songs.
She explained that she there is no rift between herself and Joe Mettle.
All she did, she insisted, was to express her opinion on a topic that was being discussed on Onua FM’s Anigye Mmre.
