Barcelona legend Ronaldinho seems to have won the hearts of inmates in the Paraguayan prison owing to his football skills. The Brazilian star turns 40 on March 21, and he will most likely celebrate his fourth decade on earth behind bars.

Ronaldinho has been behind bars in the south American country for using fake papers to gain entrance alongside his brother. Further reports claim the former AC Milan star could be sent to jail for six months if he is found guilty of a money laundering case against him.

Meanwhile, with his release date not in sight, the World Cup winner appears to be settling in well in prison as he is said to be loved by the inmates as reported by Sport Bible.

The 39-year-old participated in the football event recently organised for the prisoners this month and his team emerged victorious in the end.

Although reports from the former player’s camp revealed he is not delighted with his present situation, he is, however, enjoying the company of exciting inmates, who are making life easy for him in there.

Ronaldinho may probably have picked up his coaching career in the maximum-security facility as he is teaching them new skills and tricks.

“He can’t play any instruments inside, but I am sure that in his head he will keep on coming up with melodies for compositions when he’s out,” a source told ESPN.

He plays football every day and teaches the guys he plays with a few tricks. From the very first moment he wanted to make sure he integrated with the other inmates and he quickly managed to do that.

“He’s an idol for many of them and they have asked for him to sign hats, shirts, and trainers.” Former River Plate striker Nelson Cuevas visited Ronaldinho and revealed that he’s currently not acting like his usual self. “He is sad. Hopefully, he can get out soon. He is just sad because of the situation. His lawyers are handling the rest. I hope he can get out of there soon.”

Ronaldinho is currently jailed alongside brother Roberto de Assis and the duo is located in a specialised unit.

The Brazilian legend who is said to be smiling has been locked up in the neighbouring country after he and his brother allegedly entered the country with fake passports.

According to a friend of the star who visited him in his cell, Ronaldinho is a great shadow of his former self.
