Ronaldinho is facing six months in prison after he was arrested and charged to court when he made attempt to enter Paraguay with a fake passport and a picture of him in prison has surfaced online.

The former AC Milan and Barcelona star was arrested on Wednesday, March 4, alongside his brother and business manager Roberto, who also entered the South American country with a fake passport.

They are both being held in the same police station in the capital Asuncion, but Ronaldinho and his brother claim they were tricked in using the passports.

Although the brothers pleaded to be released into house arrest, the presiding judge rejected the plea saying the offence was a “serious one against the interests of the Paraguayan state” and remanded them in prison.

On Monday, March 9, a photo of the 39-year-old in prison surfaced online as he was pictured smiling.

The ex-footballer has been reportedly spared the nightmare scenario of a normal prison because of his status.
