Ghanaian musicians have missed out on nominations for the 2021 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.
The three African musicians who scored nominations for the international award in this year’s BET Awards are; Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz, Nigeria’s Wizkid and Burna Boy.
Burna Boy was the winner of the category last year.
Ghanaian acts Sarkodie and Stonebwoy won the Best International Act, Africa in 2012 and 2015 respectively. The former was also nominated for the same award in 2014 and 2015 but lost out.
The 2021 BET awards will be held on June 27 and will return a live audience after being hosted virtually last year because of coronavirus.
American artists Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby have each received seven nominations in this year’s awards.
Cardi B and Drake have been nominated for five awards.
