Student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST) Senior High School(SHS) went on a rampage after their colleague died of suspected COVID-19 complications.

It is gathered that the student who is an ulcer patient complained of stomach ache and was rushed to the Headmistress’ office but the issue was referred to the Senior House Master.

However, the students were rather punished by giving them a plot of land to weed by the authorities for not adhering to the COVID-19 safety protocol of wearing nose masks.

In the course of weeding, the student’s situation kept deteriorating so the students placed a call to his parents who got to the campus of the school very late to pick their son but he died upon arrival at the hospital.

The Ashanti Regional Ghana Education Service has said it will begin investigation into the issue today to get to the bottom of the issue.
