Highlife Singer, Nana Yaw Kumi professionally known as Kumi Guitar is eyeing to contest the upcoming NPP Primaries at the Akwatia Constituency.
According to reports, Nana Yaw Kumi believes he is more competent and influential than the current NPP MP, Ms Mercy Adu-Gyamfi, the hairdresser who won in the 2016 elections against Baba Jamal, the former MP.
Ama Sey as she is affectinately called is a Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC) holder who unseated the Former NDC MP, Hon. Baba Jamal.
It is currently unclear how popular or well-known Nana Yaw Kumi is within the NPP fraternity in the Akwatia constituency but it promises to be interesting as he joins a list of music and movie celebrities who have parliamentary ambitions.
