GHS, GES issue guidelines for Gold Track vacation tomorrow

Published

School authorities have been directed to delay vacation of contacts of all coronavirus positive cases recorded within the last two weeks, a joint statement from the Ghana Education and Health Services has said.

Second-year Gold Track students who joined the final year students are billed for vacation scheduled for tomorrow [Friday, July 31] after ending their semester.

However, the joint statement issued says authorities must be guided by these specific guidelines in the impending vacation as a result of coronavirus infections recorded in some SHSs.

“Any school where no positive case of COVID-19 has been recorded, the students can vacate and go home.”

“Any school that had a positive case but has not reported any new positive case within the last two weeks, the students can vacate and go home.”

Both final year students and second-year SHS Gold Track students reported to school on Monday, June 22, 2020.

Second-year Gold Track students of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy who joined the final years for the partial reopening of schools have ended their semester and are due to return home tomorrow [Friday, July 31].

Meanwhile, the final year students are scheduled to have six weeks of academic work and five weeks for their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
