Jordan Ayew to captain Black Stars against Sudan today

Crystal Palace and Ghanaian striker, Jordan Ayew is reportedly set to captain Black Stars today for the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers.

The senior National team, Black Stars will be facing off today against Sudan in Khartoum, the capital city of Sudan this afternoon.

The substantive captain, Andre Dede Ayew has suffered a muscle strain injury while training with the team on Saturday November 14, 2020 and has returned to the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, the deputy captain, Thomas Partey also suffered an injury when playing for his club Arsenal, the third captain, Richard Ofori has also been suspended due to accumulated yellow cards.

As it stands now, Jordan Ayew has been named by the technical handlers of the Black Stars as the captain for today’s match against Sudan.

According to CK Akonnor, the team has prepared very well and is ready to secure victory in today’s match.

He said,” The likes of Wakaso and Ofori have always been positive within the team in terms of team spirit and how to move the boys to follow the rhythm and I think it’s been positive and we are hoping that they translate that into the game”.

Excitingly, Ghana currently sits top of Group C with nine points in three games.
