Ghana Records over 20,000 Covid-19 Recoveries

The recoveries/discharges have seen a significant increase, reducing the number of active cases under care and management across health facilities in the country.

So far, 20,187 patients have either recovered or been discharged to continue the recovery regimen at home.

This leaves 4,192 persons as carriers of the virus.

Twenty-five are in severe conditions and eight are in critical conditions with four on ventilators.

A huge chunk of the infections (14,695) were recorded from enhanced contact tracing with 9,823 recorded from general surveillance.

So far, a total of 328,383 tests have been conducted, pegging the country’s positivity rate at 7.47 per cent.

Regional breakdown

So far, the Greater Accra Region has more active cases than any other region.

With 2,759 under care, the Region has 79 per cent of the patient population recovered.

The Upper West Region has no active cases as all the cases confirmed till date, 70, have recovered or been discharged.
