Stonebwoy issues warning to Ghanaians after “Wee” is legalized in the country.

Ghanaian Dancehall music icon Stonebwoy has given his thought on the legalisation of cannabis in Ghana. He said the legalisation does not decriminalise and guarantee the use of the drug in public places.

Stonebwoy, therefore, cautioned those who might have read different meanings into the legalisation to be very careful.

This is contained in a post he shared on Snapchat and sighted by Vibeweek.com.

He wrote:

“The Legalization of the herb is for “health and industrial purposes”, I repeat “health and industrial purposes”.I don’t think that sounds like decriminasation and freedom of usage around town.”

His post was clearly to warn those who have gone overboard over the legalisation on social media.

Stonebwoy had earlier campaigned for the legalisation for health purposes, and not it is here.

Meanwhile, Samini and Shatta Wale had jubilated over the legalisation. Samini said he is going to cultivate the plant on a large commercial scale and create employment for many people.

Shatta wale also thanked the government for legalising the substance. Also, actress Yvonne Nelson called for the legalisation of weed saying it is good for medicinal purposes.

The government of Ghana on Friday, March 20, 2020, passed the Narcotics Control Commission Bill, 2019.

The law now makes the country’s Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) a Commission with enhanced powers to oversee the industrial use of some narcotic substances. The Commission, however, will have the mandate to control and eliminate the trafficking of prohibited narcotic drugs to ensure public safety.
